Splurge Black Cod In Miso Marinade

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons miso paste ( red or white )
  • 4 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 pound black cod filets

Directions

Prep: 1. Make marinade: Whisk together miso, sake, mirin, soy sauce, oil, and sugar. 2. Place fish and marinade in ziplock bag, with fish fully doused in liquid. 3. Marinade for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 days) in fridge Make: 1. Set broiler of your oven to high 2. Place fish on a lightly greased foil-covered roasting pan (skin side down) 3. Broil about 8-10 minutes. Top will be charred and inside should be opaque.

Miso paste is generally available in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, next to the tofu.
