Prep: 1. Trim carrots. Make: 1. Bring about an inch of water to a boil in bottom of a pot into which a steamer basket or insert fits. 2. Put trimmed carrots in steamer basket, set over boiling water, cover, and steam until tender to bite, about 5 minutes for crisp-tender and up to to 10 minutes for fully cooked carrots.
If you prefer you can cut the carrots into bite sized pieces before steaming.
