Prep: 1. Remove casing from sausage. 2. Trim broccoli and cut into florets. 3. Chop garlic. Make: 1. Cook pasta according to package directions. During the last two minutes add broccoli. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain. 2 In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned all over, about 10 minutes. 3. Add garlic and red chili flakes and cook until garlic is soft and fragrant, 1 minute. 4. Add broccoli and about 1/4 cup of pasta water to the skillet. Cook until broccoli is crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Toss with pasta and season with salt and pepper. 6. Serve with lots of grated parmesan cheese, for sprinkling.
Change this dish up by using broccoli rabe or rapini instead of broccoli.
