Berry Sauce with Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup frozen mixed berries, or fresh if they are in season
  • 1 tablespoons pure maple syrup (more to taste)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pint ice cream (or pound cake)

Directions

Make: 1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a light simmer and cook about 5-10 minutes. 2. Remove from heat and serve or puree in a blender. 3. Serve over ice cream or pound cake.

Notes

For a thicker sauce reduce the water to as little as a few teaspoons. This is also great with the Pound Cake in the Gatheredtable recipe library.
