Prep: 1. Slice ciabatta bread, mozzarella, and sun-dried tomatoes. Make: 1. Drizzle cut sides of bread with olive oil. 2. On one side, lay prosciutto, salami and mozzarella, pepper, oregano and sun-dried tomatoes and cover with other half of bread. 3. Spread butter on the outside of the bread. 4. Cut sandwich in half. 5. Cook each side over medium heat, covered with a lid, for about 2-3 minutes, until golden and cheese has melted. If you want, press the sandwich with a heavy frying pan or use a panini press if you have one.
This recipe originally called for cold pressed sandwiches, but here at gatheredtable, we love melted cheese! If tomatoes are in season substitute fresh for the sun dried.
