Prep: 1. Mince garlic. Slice cucumbers into spears (or whatever shape you want your pickles to be, slices work fine as well). Make: 1. Add 1 minced clove of garlic and a few sprigs of dill to the bottom of each jar. 2. Add the spears to the jars, packing in as many as you can without having to force them in. 3. In a liquid measuring cup or pitcher (you want the spout), combine the water, vinegar, and salt; stir until salt dissolves. Completely cover cucumber spears with brine. Add in a few additional sprigs of dill, if desired. (Depending on the size of your jars and how tightly the cucumbers are packed you may need additional brine.) 4. Screw on the lids of the jars (no need to seal or anything else!). 5. Refrigerate for two days and then enjoy! These keep in the fridge for several months.
These are hands down the best homemade dill pickles we've found! Crisp and flavorful and SO easy. In a pinch dried dill works in place of fresh.
