Black Beans, Spanish-style

Ingredients

  • 1 whole onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cans canned black beans, drained
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 bay leaves (large)
  • a pinch of sea salt, to taste

Directions

Prep: 1. Slice onion, mince garlic. Make: 1. Heat oil, fry garlic and onion gently (do not burn). 2. Add beans, water, bay leaves, and salt. 3. Simmer for 45 minutes.
