1. Combine rice, oil, salt and cumin with 2 cups water in a medium sauce pan. 2. Place pan over high heat and bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat to maintain simmer and cook, covered, until rice is tender and no water is left in pot, about 1 hour. If rice seems to be cooked and there is still water in the pot, drain the rice.
You can also use a rice cooker if you have one.
