Almond Butter Banana Breakfast Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup smooth almond butter
  • 2 bananas, mashed

Directions

Prep: 1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9x9 baking pan. 2. Mash bananas. Make: 1. Whisk together flour, oats, flaxseed, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. 2. In a separate bowl mix together applesauce, syrup, almond butter and bananas. 3. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture until well combined. 4. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

These also freeze extremely well! Make sure to cool them completely and cut them into individual servings before freezing. To reheat, pop them in the microwave for 20-40 seconds. It's best to reheat them one at a time if you can A great healthy breakfast!
