Prep: 1. Preheat oven to 375. Make: 1. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt. 2. In a separate bowl use an electric mixer to cream together butter and sugars. Beat in the egg and then slowly pour in molasses while mixing on medium speed. 3. Add flour mixture into butter/sugar mixture and mix with a wooden spoon until just combined. 4. Form dough into about 3/4 inch balls, dip in sugar and place on a cookie sheet. 5. Bake cookies for about 8-10 minutes. They don't spread out much so sometimes don't really look done, but they are. Error on the side of less time for the first batch and go from there (8 minutes is usually about perfect).
