Salt and Pepper Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced, seeds removed if desired
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Prep: 1. Mince garlic. Slice green onion. 2. De-seed and slice jalapeno. Make: 1. In bowl, toss the shrimp, cornstarch, pepper and salt together. 2. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. 2. Add the garlic, 1/2 of the jalapeƱos and 1/2 of the green onions. Cook, stirring, until crisp and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. 3. Add the coated shrimp and cook, until pink and firm, 1-2 minutes per side. 4. Remove from the heat and toss with the remaining jalapeƱos and green onions.

Notes

The desired serving size for this shrimp varies widely depending on how much you like it and what you serve with it, we ate this like our lives depended on it so you may want to make extra. For a more authentic flavor add 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper.
