Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons onion, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • sea salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Prep: 1. Mince garlic and onion. Make: 1. Mix together onions, garlic, ground beef, egg, salt, pepper, and bread crumbs. 2. Form about 1 inch meatballs from the ground beef mixture. 3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place meatballs into the heated skillet and brown each side, about 7-10 minutes. 4. Remove the meatballs and place on a plate lined with paper towels. 5. Reduce the heat on the skillet or saute pan to medium-low heat. Melt butter and whisk in flour until it has turned golden brown. 6. Slowly whisk in beef broth and cook until thickened, then add in milk, worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt. 7. Add meatballs back into the skillet, turning to coat well. Cook until meatballs are warmed through and serve.
