Broccoli with Spicy Tahini

Ingredients

  • 1 pound broccoli
  • 1/3 cup tahini sauce
  • 1 tablespoon harissa, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Prep: 1. Bring 1 inch of water in a large saucepan to a boil. 2. Cut broccoli into florets. Make: 1. Place broccoli into water (use a steamer basket if you have one), cover and cook until just tender, 2 to 4 minutes (depending on taste). Reserve 1/3 cup of the broccoli-steaming liquid. 2. Whisk together tahini and reserved cooking liquid (or use a blender). Add harissa, lemon juice and salt and whisk/blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary. 3. Serve the broccoli with the sauce.

Notes

If you can't find harissa any hot sauce will do, we like sriracha.
